All About Me
Hi, I'm Isabella and I'm a London-based online private tutor. I was an academically gifted child at school, achieving A-A* in all my GCSEs and As in AS & A-Level. Despite my quietness at the time, I remember the teachers who believed in me and brought out my inner confidence when I felt comfortable. This appreciation informs my tutoring approach, as I nurture children and encourage them to achieve their personal best.

I gained a 1st-class English & Drama degree from Royal Holloway University of London, and went on to receive a Masters with Distinction at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Since 2019, I have been tutoring students 1-1 online in a variety of subjects. I am a friendly and approachable figure, who offers tailored and supportive teaching techniques to suit every child. My ambition is to help children to love learning, through offering a safe space to ask questions, focus on challenges and grow personally, as well as academically.

Moreover, I am a professional performer, and my arts career runs alongside my tutoring, benefiting my teaching in my ability to bring natural creativity. As a singer, dancer and actor, a sense of positive energy and confidence are essential and I offer an engaging method of passing on information, whether to huge audiences in a theatre, or to one child in a private lesson.

I have taught dance and singing to children from the age of 3, up to 18 years old, and I have taught a variety of children academically, including many with English as a secondary language.
I have also worked in SEN primary and secondary schools, specifically with those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, so I have experience engaging with children from many backgrounds and with different psychological needs.

I enjoy teaching both children who struggle academically and need additional support, as well as students who excel and are looking for an extra challenge. Whatever your child's requirements, please do get in touch to learn more.
How does it all work?
First, I like to have a quick phone call with you as the parent/guardian, to meet you and find out your desires for the lessons. I also like to talk to the student where possible, for them to have an opportunity to speak to me and so I can find out more about their likes/dislikes.
Then, we set up the first online session as a ‘baseline assessment’. This is by no means an exam, and is usually not mentioned to the student, but is an accurate and helpful way for me to get an understanding of the child’s abilities, strengths and weaknesses. This usually covers a variety of topics within the chosen subject(s).
Next, we set up a regular slot every week for scheduled online lessons and I can use the information from the baseline assessment to personalise the sessions. This can be just in term-time, or throughout the year, depending on your preference and availability.
From here, I forge a comfortable and friendly relationship with the student, helping them to love learning and crafting tailored lessons each week, specifically for them.
